The drill features Nachi's proprietary blue-black DLC-style \"Aqua\" coating (a hard multi-layer coating applied over carbide substrate), which provides excellent wear resistance, low friction, and heat resistance for drilling steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other ferrous materials at elevated cutting speeds. Through-coolant channels run the full length of the flute body, enabling high-pressure coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge for chip evacuation and thermal management in deep-hole drilling applications. The straight shank — visibly reduced\/necked compared to the body — is compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders (ER or hydraulic) sized for the shank diameter.
