Grade 4315 is a CVD-coated cemented carbide featuring a Ti(C,N)\/Al2O3 multilayer coating with a PVD top layer, engineered for the P2.1 steel turning application range with a hardness target of 175 HB, and also rated for K2.2 cast iron cutting up to 245 HB. The PM chipbreaker geometry is a positive-rake medium-finishing chipbreaker suited for depths of cut from 0.4–5 mm, feed rates of 0.1–0.3 mm\/r, at cutting speeds of 360–1200 m\/min (1300–1100 sfm) in steel and 265–860 m\/min (960–800 sfm) in cast iron as printed on the package label.
