The 3M 9145 is a new Hook & Loop disc pad holder (backing pad) designed for use with 4-1/2 in (114 mm) diameter hook-and-loop abrasive discs on angle grinders and right-angle disc sanders. The pad features a 5/8-11 female threaded steel hub that threads directly onto the spindle of a standard 4-1/2 in angle grinder, and a flexible rubber body that conforms slightly to workpiece contours for consistent disc contact. Rated to a maximum of 13,000 RPM, it is compatible with 3M Hookit and equivalent hook-and-loop abrasive discs used in grinding, blending, and finishing operations on metal, composites, and painted surfaces.
