The 3M DBI-SALA 3303019 is a new Low Speed Descent Device designed for emergency evacuation from elevated structures, rated for a user capacity of 75–310 lbs (34–141 kg) with a minimum breaking strength of 3,000 lbs (13.34 kN). The unit houses 200 ft of 3/16 in (5mm) diameter 7x19 stainless steel wire rope (material designation 'S') and descends at a nominal speed of 6.5 ft/sec, controlled by an internal centrifugal brake mechanism requiring no user input to regulate speed. The kit includes the descent device with integrated blue-handled carry frame, a swivel snap hook connector, a DBI-SALA branded rope grab/positioning device, two galvanized steel L-bracket wall mounts, mounting hardware, and a 3M user instruction manual. The device is anchored via a stainless steel end connector and requires a minimum anchorage strength of 3,000 lbs; it is intended for emergency use only by trained personnel wearing a full body harness, and is not user-repairable. Annual inspection by a competent person is required per the label.
