The 3M Scotchcast 82-B1N is an inline resin splice kit (3M ID 80-6116-1674-1, UPC 7100123111) for making tap or branch splices on unshielded, synthetic-insulated cables rated 5 kV and lower when using a split solder sleeve or compression-type connector, and to a maximum of 1000 volts when using a split bolt connector or multi-conductor cables. It is designed for weather-exposed or direct-burial locations. The kit accommodates split bolt connectors up to #4 AWG maximum and crimped connectors up to #2 AWG maximum, with a cable O.D. range of 1/4 in to 5/8 in (6.3-15.9 mm). The kit includes a Scotchcast electrical insulating resin pouch (7.4 oz / 200 g, Part B), a clear two-cavity plastic mold, two cable-entry funnel pieces, two gray tape strips, and the instruction sheet. This unit is new, made in the USA with globally sourced materials.
