The 3M Scotchkote Electrical Coating FD is a fast-drying, brush-applied insulating coating supplied in a 15 fl oz (440 mL) metal can with an integrated brush-in-cap applicator, as confirmed by the label and top-view photo. It is specifically formulated for use on electrical splices subject to abnormal weathering or moisture conditions, providing a strong, fast-drying outer seal that resists moisture, oil, and aliphatic hydrocarbons. The product is designed for application over splices that have been taped with Scotch Vinyl Electrical Tape — the coating is brushed evenly over the splice and extended onto adjacent cable insulation. The formula is classified as an extremely flammable liquid (flash-fire hazard) and is RoHS compliant, as indicated by the RoHS symbol visible on the label.
