The Aloris CXA-1 is a No. 1 Turning & Facing Tool Holder in the CXA series quick-change toolpost system, manufactured in the USA by Aloris Tool Technology Co. Inc. of Clifton, NJ — a standard that has been the industry benchmark since 1946. It is machined from hardened steel with a black oxide finish and accepts tool bits up to 3/4 in. square shank, clamped via a through-bolt with a knurled locking nut and hex locknut assembly that provides rigid, repeatable tool height setting. The CXA series is sized for engine lathes with 13 to 18 in. swing, with an overall height of 2-1/8 in. and an overall length of 3-1/2 in., and the dovetail interface registers precisely to any CXA-series quick-change tool post for zero-backlash, repeatable positioning. This holder is new in original Aloris packaging and is suitable for standard turning and facing operations on manual engine lathes in that swing range.
