The Allied Machine & Engineering (AMEC) 160125-57 is a solid carbide, single-flute NPT (National Pipe Taper) thread mill designed for helical interpolation milling of 1/8 NPT pipe threads in CNC machining centers. The tool carries a TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) PVD coating, which provides high oxidation resistance, elevated hardness at temperature, and extended tool life in steels, stainless steels, and cast iron. Marked "SPL 18 NPT" on its label, this is a special-geometry threadmill configured for 1/8-27 NPT taper pipe thread form, enabling both right-hand internal and external NPT threads to be produced in a single helical pass without chip-packing concerns associated with taps. The cylindrical shank is compatible with standard ER or set-screw collet toolholders; the tapered flute geometry at the cutting end replicates the NPT 1°47′ taper angle. This is a new, unused tool in original Allied Machine packaging (Lot M6211X0, REV.0(0)).
