Atrax 85285005 SC-4 DC 7/16x1x1/4 in Carbide Cylinder Ball Bur

The Atrax 85285005 is a new, USA-made solid tungsten carbide rotary bur in the SC-4 shape — a cylinder with a ball nose (ANSI shape SC) — featuring a double-cut (DC) cross-spiral tooth pattern that produces a finer finish and reduced chatter compared to single-cut fluting. The head measures 7/16 in (0.4375 in) diameter by 1 in cutting length, mounted on a 1/4 in diameter shank for use in standard 1/4 in collet die grinders, flexible shafts, and pneumatic or electric rotary tools. The double-cut geometry is suited for deburring, porting, shaping, and material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, cast iron, hardened steels, and composites; the ball nose end allows contouring and blending of curved surfaces and radius work. The dark surface visible on the smaller bur in the photos is consistent with a surface treatment or AlTiN-style dark coating on one variant, while the second appears uncoated bright carbide — both are the same SC-4 DC geometry per the label.
