The Autonics MD5-HF28 is a five-phase micro-stepping motor controller designed for direct control of five-phase hybrid stepper motors. Rated for 100–220V AC input at 50/60Hz with 2.8A maximum phase current, this new unit features a finned aluminum heatsink for thermal dissipation and includes green 3-pin terminal blocks for motor and control signal connections. The device incorporates control inputs for clockwise/counterclockwise rotation, hold/off function, divisor selection, and zero-output command, with status indication via Power, Alarm, Run, and Test LED indicators. Operating specifications include support for step division (1×, 2×, 4×, 8× configurable via MS1/MS2 selector), CW/CCW directional control, and manual step pulse input via the TEST button for diagnostic purposes. This controller is commonly used in precision positioning, light industrial automation, CNC retrofits, and micro-motion applications requiring reliable five-phase stepper operation.
