The Baldwin Filters B7217 is a new, full-flow spin-on engine oil filter designed for heavy-duty diesel applications, featuring a 1-1/2"-12 UN threaded base and an overall height of 8-1/8 in. The steel canister houses a high-capacity cellulose/synthetic blend filter media engineered to remove contaminants from engine lubricating oil, and the base plate incorporates 12 inlet holes (visible in the base photo) with an integrated anti-drain back seal to prevent dry starts. The B7217 is a direct cross-reference for the Cummins LF9008 and is commonly used on Cummins B-series and ISB diesel engines found in agricultural equipment, construction machinery, and on-highway trucks. The filter carries a bypass valve to protect the engine in cold-start or high-viscosity conditions, ensuring continuous oil flow when differential pressure across the media exceeds the valve's set point.
