The Baldwin Filters BD7166 is a new, USA-made heavy-duty dual-flow (bypass/full-flow combination) spin-on lube oil filter designed for diesel engines in construction, agricultural, and on-highway equipment. The "BD" prefix in Baldwin's nomenclature designates a Duallflow spin-on element, meaning the filter passes oil through both a primary full-flow media and a bypass-ratio secondary media in a single canister, extending oil change intervals and providing superior contaminant control. It features a 1-14 UNS threaded center port, a stamped-steel base plate with eight inlet ports (clearly visible in the base photos), and a nitrile rubber gasket seal. The BD7166 is a direct replacement for Cummins applications — specifically Cummins diesel engines — and crosses to Cummins 3318853, Fleetguard LF3345, and Donaldson P550427 among others. The all-steel canister construction and Baldwin's Stratapore® filter media ensure consistent β10 efficiency suitable for high-load engine oil filtration service.
