BCT 1810014-CO 1" x 14" HSSCo Coolant Thru Taper Shank Drill Bit

This new BCT USA 1810014-CO is a 1 inch diameter coolant-through (oil-fed) taper shank twist drill with a 14 inch overall length and a 9 inch flute length, made from cobalt high speed steel (HSSCo). The drill has two internal coolant holes visible at the point, which carry coolant to the cutting edges to flush chips and reduce heat in deep-hole drilling. A chipbreaker feature is listed on the label to help break chips for easier evacuation, and the finish is a bronze/black oxide-type treatment on the flutes with a bright ground tapered shank ending in a tang. The tool is designed for machine drilling on lathes, drill presses and machining centers with a matching taper sleeve or spindle, and the cobalt substrate suits tougher, heat-resistant materials such as alloy and stainless steels.
