CGS 45040-ALTIN EF-5 3/4in 5-Flute AlTiN Carbide Square End Mill

The CGS Tool 45040-ALTIN is a new, solid carbide 5-flute square end mill from the EF-5 series, manufactured in the USA with a 0.7500 in cutting diameter, 1.000 in length of cut, and 3.00 in overall length. The tool features an AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) coating, which provides a hardness exceeding 3000 HV, an oxidation resistance temperature up to approximately 900°C, and significantly reduced friction compared to uncoated carbide, making it well-suited for dry or semi-dry machining of hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The 5-flute geometry and 3/4 in shank diameter are designed for use in standard 3/4 in ER, Weldon, or hydraulic toolholders, enabling high material removal rates with improved surface finish compared to 4-flute designs at equivalent feed rates. The deep black AlTiN coating is clearly visible across the flute geometry in the photos, consistent with the label specification.
