Chicago-Latrobe 44212 is a 3/16 in (0.1875 in) diameter, List 150D high-speed steel (HSS) jobber-length drill bit with an altered point (split/crankshaft-style point geometry) and a bright (uncoated) finish, sold new in the factory pack of 12. The 150D series is ground to ANSI/ASME B94.11M standards with a 118° included angle altered (thinned web) point that reduces thrust force and self-centers more readily than a conventional chisel edge, making these bits well-suited for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, brass, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials in production environments. The straight shank is sized for standard 3/16 in collets or drill chucks, and the bright finish is compatible with both dry drilling and flood coolant operations; these are USA-manufactured, as confirmed by the "USA" marking visible on both the shank stampings and original Chicago-Latrobe factory packaging (C-L P/N 44212, GFI WO-03526630).
