Chicago-Latrobe 54026 is a pack of 12 new #16 wire gauge (0.1770 in / 4.496 mm) jobber-length twist drill bits from the 550-TN series, manufactured in the USA. These bits are made from M2 high-speed steel with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) PVD coating — the gold color clearly visible in the photos — which increases surface hardness to approximately 2300 HV, reduces friction, and extends tool life compared to uncoated HSS drills. The 550-TN series features a 118° conventional point angle with a bright-finished flute and is designed for drilling carbon steel, alloy steel, cast iron, aluminum, and most non-ferrous materials in general-purpose production environments.
