The Clausing 3-513 is a new, cast-iron steady rest designed for Clausing toolroom lathes, featuring a three-jaw self-centering design with interchangeable bronze tip and roller tip finger assemblies to suit a range of workpiece materials and surface finish requirements. The unit accepts workpiece diameters from 0.39 in (approximately 3/8 in) up to 4 in capacity, as confirmed by the box label reading "3-513 STEADY REST BRNZ & ROLLER TIP .39" TO 4" CAP." The hinged upper jaw opens for easy workpiece loading without disturbing the setup, and three individually adjustable fingers with knurled locking screws provide precise radial centering of long or slender shafts to prevent deflection during turning operations. Included hardware consists of three roller/pin finger assemblies, a mounting bolt, and a separate mounting pad block, all finished in the same white enamel as the body. This steady rest is compatible with Clausing engine and toolroom lathes for which the 3-513 was cataloged.
