This new Cleveland C91698 (List 183, designation 183-CSS-9) is a two-diameter spiral-flute step drill that drills a 0.178 in diameter hole and counterbores it to 0.286 in diameter in a single pass. It has a 1/4 in diameter shank for collet or chuck holding. The bright, uncoated finish and the spiral flute design are visible on the tool. It was made in the USA by Cleveland, a Greenfield Industries brand, and is sold as a single piece. The 0.178/0.286 in step sizes suit drilling and counterbore operations for a socket head cap screw head pocket, but the cap screw size is not confirmed by the markings.
