The CooperVision (LaserSonics) Model 2500 is a Q-switched Nd:YAG ophthalmic laser system, Part No. 0100-2011, Serial No. 41, manufactured in June 1984 in Santa Clara, CA under the Radiation Control for Health & Safety Act of 1968. The system is designed primarily for posterior capsulotomy procedures — disrupting the posterior lens capsule following cataract surgery — as well as peripheral iridotomy and anterior segment laser procedures.
