DAP Weldwood 49811 is a new, 1-gallon (3.78 L) high-solids polychloroprene waterborne contact adhesive in nonflammable formula, engineered to meet the demands of professional users requiring a permanent, flexible bond on contact. The adhesive delivers a 60–70 minute open/dry time and a 2.5–3 hour assembly/working time, allowing repositioning before final bonding; bonds become stronger and more water-resistant with age. Recommended applications include decorative laminates, veneers, paper, cork, cloth-backed vinyl, particle board, medium-density fiberboard (MDF), drywall, plywood, wood, fabrics, leather, and cardboard; not suitable for structural applications, HPL-to-HPL bonding, foam bonding, or reactive metals. The low-odor, water-cleanup formula has a coverage rate of 760 sq ft/gal at 3 dry grams per sq ft (one surface), or 380 sq ft of bonded substrate, and carries a 12-month shelf life when stored in a cool, dry place.
