The Dixon BFS22 (full catalog number 1240404K) is a new domestically produced brass ball-seat hose barb fitting in a 6-piece pack, designed to connect a flexible hose to a female NPSM (National Pipe Straight Mechanical) threaded port. The fitting features a 1/4 in nominal size, a ball-seat nose on the barbed stem that seats against a female fitting to provide a leak-resistant seal without a separate gasket, 4 annular barbs over a 0.97 in barb length that grip the hose ID to resist pull-off, and a 5/8 in hex for wrench engagement. Overall assembled length is 1-15/32 in; construction is free-machined brass, offering good corrosion resistance and compatibility with air, water, fuel, and many hydraulic fluids. These fittings are used in compressed-air plumbing, pneumatic tool lines, coolant systems, and general fluid-transfer applications where a permanent, wrench-tightened hose-to-pipe-thread connection is required.
