Dormer CDX-AL Bright Carbide Long Series Oil Feed Step Shank Drill DIN 6537 L

This is a new Dormer CDX-AL series solid carbide twist drill in bright (uncoated) finish, manufactured in France to DIN 6537 L (long series) with a step shank and through-coolant oil feed capability. The CDX-AL designation identifies it as a carbide drill engineered specifically for aluminium and non-ferrous materials, featuring geometry optimised for low cutting forces and minimal built-up edge in these materials. The step shank (reduced parallel shank) allows the drill to be held in standard collet chucks or hydraulic toolholders with a smaller bore than the cutting diameter, a common configuration for long-series drills exceeding collet capacity. The IL80 marking on the label indicates an overall length of 80 mm (internal length reference), and the DIN 6537 L standard governs the drill's dimensional tolerances, flute length, and shank geometry.
