This is a new lot of 10 copper-tungsten (CuW) hollow EDM electrode tubes, part number 9977012-603G01 (shop ref XP1000), measuring 0.078 in ±0.0005 in OD × 1-1/2 in ±0.015 in length with a precision-ground through-bore (VJ/VH designation indicating holes on both ends, used for flushing EDM dielectric fluid during drilling operations). Copper-tungsten is the preferred electrode material for EDM hole-drilling (small-hole EDM / start-hole EDM) because the tungsten content provides exceptional wear resistance and arc erosion stability while the copper matrix delivers the high thermal and electrical conductivity needed for efficient spark discharge; these tubes are commonly used to drill start holes in hardened dies, molds, turbine blades, and other difficult-to-machine workpieces. Each tube is packaged in a protective capped clear plastic tube (red end caps visible in photos) to preserve the ground OD surface finish and bore geometry prior to use; OD tolerance of ±0.0005 in confirms precision grinding to tight concentricity for consistent EDM performance and minimal overburn.
