This is a new Emuge MultiTAP SP-MULTI-TiCN spiral point (gun) tap, part number CU499300.0112, sized M12x1.75 to ISO 6H tolerance class, manufactured in Germany. The SP-MULTI series is a premium powdered-metallurgy HSS-E-PM substrate tap with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, which provides higher surface hardness and lower friction than TiN, enabling dry or minimum-quantity lubrication tapping and longer tool life across a broad range of materials. The spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the tap, making it suited for through-hole tapping in CNC machining centers, tapping units, and rigid tapping setups. The ISO 2 chamfer lead (approximately 3–5 threads) facilitates easy thread entry, and the 6H tolerance produces a standard-fit internal thread compatible with 6g-class fasteners. The square drive shank is sized for standard ISO machine tap holders and floating tap collets appropriate for M12.
