The Engis HS13798 (catalog ref B-13976) is a new CBN (cubic boron nitride) electroplated bore finishing tool — also known as a single-pass diamond/CBN honing mandrel or "bore finishing tool" (BBFT) — with a nominal bore diameter of 0.2695 in and a working length of 2 in. The abrasive section is plated with 600 grit CBN, delivering a fine finishing cut suited for achieving tight tolerances and superior surface finish in hardened ferrous bores, including through-hardened steel, cast iron, and powder metal components. Engis electroplated CBN tools remove stock in a single pass without the need for expansion or adjustment, making them suitable for automated in-line honing and precision bore finishing operations. The hollow, slotted construction visible in the photos allows the mandrel to flex slightly for self-centering in the bore, and the tool is designed to be driven by a standard honing machine or drill press spindle. This is a new, unused tool in original Engis packaging.
