The Felco C7 is a new, Swiss-made shear-cut wire rope and cable cutter manufactured by Felco SA (Les Geneveys-sur-Coffrane, Switzerland), a professional-grade hand tool designed for clean, burr-free cuts on soft wire rope up to 7 mm (0.3 in) diameter, stainless cable up to 4 mm (0.2 in) diameter, and very hard wire such as springs up to 2.5 mm (0.1 in) diameter. The tool measures 7-1/2 in (190 mm) overall length and uses a compound-action shear cutting mechanism with hardened steel blades finished in black oxide, mounted on red PVC-coated ergonomic handles with a center-pivot bolt design. The C7 is also distributed under the Loos & Co. (Naples, FL) brand — as visible on the head of the unit — and is cross-listed as a cable cutter for wire rope, bicycle cable, marine rigging wire, electrical wire, and galvanized or stainless steel cable applications. It is field-serviceable with replaceable blades and spring components available from Felco.
