The Fiskars 392862 (model HS551) is a new, heavy-duty manual hedge shear featuring the PowerGear2 Level 3 Ultra Force gear mechanism, which Fiskars rates at up to 3x more cutting power than conventional hedge shears of comparable size. The blades are precision-ground steel with a titanium-based coating (gold/bronze finish, clearly visible in photos) that increases surface hardness, reduces friction against plant material, and resists corrosion and sap buildup. Overall tool length is approximately 23 inches with long, tapered bypass blades suited for shaping and trimming hedges, shrubs, and topiaries; the PowerGear2 compound-action pivot geometry multiplies squeeze force at the blade during the cut stroke. Handles are glass-filled nylon over a steel core with co-molded SoftGrip overmold (black/orange), and the product carries a Fiskars lifetime warranty.
