The 82° included point angle produces a precisely sized, accurate seat for standard 82° countersunk fasteners and serves as a spotting drill for subsequent twist or carbide drill operations, preventing walking on flat or curved surfaces. The TiN coating increases surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in steel, aluminum, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials; the 3-flute design provides superior rigidity and chip evacuation compared to 2-flute alternatives.
