Garr 1580HD 3.10mm 3xD DIN 2FL AlTiN Carbide Drill Bit

This is a new Garr Tool 1580HD series solid carbide high-performance drill, item number 20095, with a 3.10 mm cutting diameter and a 3xD flute length conforming to DIN standards. The drill features a 2-flute geometry optimized for high-penetration-rate drilling (H/P DR) and is coated with an AlTiN-based (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) coating, which provides excellent hardness, oxidation resistance up to approximately 900°C, and superior performance in ferrous and hard alloy materials compared to standard TiN or TiAlN coatings. The 1580HD series is designed for demanding drilling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, and is manufactured in the USA by Garr Tool Company. The drill ships in Garr's standard protective plastic tube with a blue end cap, and is suitable for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses with appropriate collet or drill chuck toolholding rated for small-diameter carbide tooling.
