This is a new Garr Tool V4-R Series solid carbide corner radius end mill, part number 50490, with a 1/4 in cutting diameter, 3/8 in flute length, 2 in overall length, and a 0.015 in corner radius, featuring 4 flutes with variable helix geometry for chatter reduction. The tool is coated with AlCrN (Aluminum Chromium Nitride), a premium PVD coating that provides excellent thermal stability and oxidation resistance up to approximately 1100°C, making it well-suited for machining hardened steels, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. The 1/4 in shank diameter mates directly with standard 1/4 in ER collets, shrink-fit holders, and milling chucks; the variable flute geometry of the V4-R series reduces harmonic resonance during aggressive side milling and slotting operations. Made in the USA at Garr Tool's Alma, Michigan facility, this end mill is offered in factory-new condition in the original Garr packaging tube.
