This is a new, factory-sealed box of 10 Gühring S-Kleinstbohrer (precision micro drill bits), item number 660-0.680, internal article 21647938, conforming to DIN 1899 R-N — the German standard for short-series stub micro drills with a straight cylindrical shank and normal-length flute geometry. The substrate is HSS-E-PM (powder-metallurgy high-speed steel with elevated cobalt content), which delivers significantly finer grain structure, higher red hardness, and superior wear resistance compared to conventional HSS or HSS-E ground from bar stock — making it well-suited for drilling hardened steels, stainless, titanium alloys, and difficult non-ferrous materials at micro-scale. The cutting zone is TiN (titanium nitride) coated, visible as the characteristic gold color on the fluted section, providing additional surface hardness and reduced friction for extended tool life in production environments.
