The Guhring RF 100 Ball (Series 3861) is a solid carbide (VHM / Vollhartmetall) 4-flute ball nose end mill in 3/8 in (9.525 mm) diameter with a 3/8 in shank, manufactured in Germany to Guhring's RF 100 Ball standard for hardened steel and difficult-to-machine alloys. The tool carries Guhring's nACRo (nano-crystalline AlTiN-based) coating — visible as the uniform deep black PVD finish across the flutes and shank — which provides oxidation resistance up to ~900 °C and is optimized for dry or near-dry machining of hardened steels, tool steels, stainless, and aerospace alloys. The 30° helix angle (confirmed from the second photo markings: "30° HELIX") promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces in 3D profiling, contouring, and die/mold finishing operations. The label on the third photo confirms: No. 3861 9,52 / WN USA R-N / Ø 9.525 / VHM / 14823602, establishing the item as new-old-stock (NOS) in unused condition. This end mill accepts standard ER or Weldon side-lock toolholders bored to 3/8 in and is well-suited for CNC machining centers requiring close-tolerance ball-end profiling.
