This is a new Guhring No. 8511 RatioBo VA solid carbide twist drill in 11.4 mm diameter, conforming to DIN 6537L (long series, right-hand cut), coated with Guhring's TiAlN-NANO (NANO-A) PVD coating specifically engineered for dry and MQL machining of stainless steel (VA/V2A/V4A austenitic grades) and other difficult-to-cut materials. The RT1 point geometry features a 140° split point for self-centering entry, reduced thrust, and excellent chip evacuation, with a cylindrical shank sized for standard ER collet chucks and precision drill chucks. DIN 6537L specifies an extra-long flute length relative to diameter, extending reach for deeper-hole applications typical in stainless steel fabrication, medical device manufacturing, and aerospace component drilling. The TiAlN-NANO multilayer PVD coating delivers elevated hot hardness and oxidation resistance above 900 °C, enabling higher cutting speeds and longer tool life compared to standard TiAlN mono-layer coatings.
