This is a new GWS Tool Group solid carbide twist drill bit, model 36XE97, with a 1/16 in (0.0625 in) diameter as read directly from the package label. GWS carbide twist drills are manufactured from submicron-grain tungsten carbide for superior hardness and wear resistance compared to HSS equivalents, making them suitable for drilling hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, and composites. The straight shank design is compatible with standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and precision toolholders accepting 1/16 in shank diameters. The two-flute spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in blind and through-hole applications at elevated spindle speeds typical of CNC machining centers and precision benchtop drill presses.
