The GWS Tool Group SD-6NF (MPN 310-002508) is a new solid carbide ball-shaped (Type SD) rotary burr ground with an NF-cut (non-ferrous / aluminum cut) flute geometry, marketed by GWS as the "Aluma Burr." The SD designation per ANSI/IIA standards defines a full-ball (sphere) head profile, while the "6" encodes a 1/2 in (12.7 mm) head diameter; the 1/4 in shank diameter and standard 1/4 in shank length are confirmed by the "08" suffix in the part number (shank diameter 1/4 in = code 08 in GWS's numbering convention). The NF (non-ferrous) cut features widely spaced, high-helix flutes with a bright uncoated carbide finish, engineered to shear aluminum, copper, brass, magnesium, and other soft non-ferrous metals without loading or chip welding. This burr is compatible with pneumatic die grinders, flexible-shaft machines, and any rotary tool accepting a 1/4 in collet; GWS recommends operating at 25,000–35,000 RPM for optimal material removal in aluminum. The tool ships new in GWS's standard plastic case with end cap.
