HeliCoil 7751-3 M3x0.5 Hand Installation Tool Thread Insert Prewinder

The HeliCoil 7751-3 is a new hand installation tool (mandrel-type prewinder) designed specifically for installing M3 x 0.5 mm pitch HeliCoil wire thread inserts into pre-tapped holes. The tool features a knurled black-oxide steel body with an adjustable stop collar that is set to control insert installation depth, and a bent-wire prewinder tip (blue plastic tip cap) that loads and pre-winds the insert onto the mandrel tang before driving it into the tapped hole. Installation procedure involves adjusting the stop collar so the mandrel projects one-half turn beyond nominal insert length, loading the insert via the prewinder, rotating the mandrel to drive the insert flush or below the surface, then retracting the mandrel — the tang is broken off separately after installation. This tool is sold new in original HeliCoil (Stanley Engineered Fastening) packaging and is compatible exclusively with HeliCoil free-running and screw-lock wire thread inserts in M3 x 0.5 size; it is not interchangeable with other thread sizes.
