This is a new Hertel 07575103 13-piece HSS aircraft extension length drill bit set, covering fractional sizes 1/16 in through 1/4 in (in 1/64 in increments per the labeled index block) on 12-inch overall-length shanks, with a 135° split-point geometry for self-centering and reduced thrust in metal and composite drilling. The bits are ground from high-speed steel (HSS) and carry a black oxide surface treatment that provides corrosion resistance and reduces friction during cutting. The extended 12-inch length is specifically designed for drilling through structural panels, aircraft skins, and deep-reach applications where standard-length drills cannot access the work. The split-point tip eliminates the need for a center punch on most metals and minimizes walking on curved or contoured surfaces. All 13 bits are stored in a labeled aluminum index block with wall-mount keyhole slots, made in the USA, and stamped "HS USA" on each shank for traceability.
