This is a new Hertel solid carbide 4-flute square end mill with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, measuring 5/16 in cutting diameter with a 5/16 in shank diameter, 1-1/8 in length of cut, and 3 in overall length. The tool is manufactured in Korea and features a center-cutting (CC) geometry, allowing plunge entry in addition to peripheral and slot milling operations. TiCN coating provides higher hardness and lower coefficient of friction than TiN, making it well-suited for machining steels, stainless steels, and cast iron at elevated surface speeds. The SEM designation on the label indicates a square end mill profile with standard helix flutes visible in the product photo. Compatible with standard 5/16 in collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style side-lock holders.
