The Hertel 89315741 is a new 7/8" (0.8750") diameter high-speed steel (HSS) extra-length twist drill bit with a straight shank, 18" overall length, and 12" flute length, conforming to ANSI B94.11 extra-long series standards. The drill features a conventional 118° point angle with a black oxide surface treatment, which provides mild corrosion resistance and improved lubricity during cutting. Designed for deep-hole drilling applications in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials, this drill requires a drill press, lathe, or milling machine with a minimum 7/8" chuck or collet capacity. The extended flute length enables chip evacuation from deep bores that standard jobber-length drills cannot reach, and the straight shank allows direct clamping in standard drill chucks without an adapter.
