Hertel 89330898 5/8x3/8x2-3/8 82° 4-Flute Chatless HSS Countersink

This is a new Hertel 5/8 in x 3/8 in x 2-3/8 in, 82° included-angle, 4-flute chatless countersink in High-Speed Steel (HSS) with a black oxide finish, item number 89330898. The chatless (also called chatterless) multi-flute design features an unequal flute spacing that eliminates the harmonic chatter common to single- and double-flute countersinks, producing a smoother, more accurate 82° countersink in a single pass. The 3/8 in straight shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and countersink holders; the 5/8 in body diameter accommodates flat-head fasteners per ANSI/ASME B18.6.3 82° standards in steel, aluminum, brass, and plastics. HSS construction provides adequate toughness for general-purpose production use in these materials, and the black oxide treatment offers minimal corrosion resistance and reduced galling.
