The Iscar CNGA 120412T IS8 is a solid CBN (cubic boron nitride) turning insert in the IS8 grade, supplied new in a factory-sealed 10-piece package made in Korea. Decoding the ISO designation: C = 80° diamond shape, N = 0° clearance angle (neutral/negative rake), G = close tolerance (±0.025 mm on thickness, ±0.025 mm on inscribed circle), A = with hole and one-sided chipbreaker land, 12 = inscribed circle 12.7 mm (1/2 in), 04 = thickness 4.76 mm (3/16 in), 12 = nose radius 1.2 mm, T = T-land (chamfered cutting edge). The IS8 grade is Iscar's solid CBN grade engineered for hard turning of hardened steels (HRC 45–65), hardened cast iron, and sintered metals at high cutting speeds without coolant, delivering superior wear resistance and consistent surface finish.
