The Iscar DSD-EF 47.63-FB (catalog # 9905492) is a new, indexable deep-hole drilling head from Iscar's DSD (Deep Hole Single Tube System) product line, designed for use with Single Tube (Ejector/STS) deep-drilling systems. The "EF" designation indicates an Effective diameter variant with internal coolant channels and a flat-bottom (FB) cutting geometry, engineered for producing flat-bottomed holes. The head has a nominal outer diameter of 47.63 mm and an inner bore diameter of 39 mm (D47.63d39 as engraved on the body), with the connecting shank measuring D1.875d1.535 in inches (≈ 47.63 mm OD / 39 mm bore), and the grade designation F4ST43 visible on the body confirming the carbide grade family. This head accepts indexable carbide inserts secured via Torx fasteners (Wiha T15 and T15 keys included) and is compatible with Iscar's STS/Ejector single-tube deep-hole drilling system, suitable for machining steel, cast iron, and other structural materials in deep-hole applications on dedicated deep-hole drilling machines or machining centers with appropriate STS tooling.
