The Iscar GIPI 4.00-2.0UL IC8250 is a new, factory-sealed indexable carbide grooving insert from Iscar's GIP (Groove-Turn Insert Pocketed) line, designed for external grooving and parting operations. The part number decodes as follows: GIPI = grooving insert pocketed style with internal coolant capability; 4.00 = 4.00 mm cutting width; 2.0 = 2.0 mm maximum depth of cut; UL = neutral/universal hand with a left-side chip deflector geometry; IC8250 = Iscar's PVD TiAlN-based coated submicron carbide grade optimized for ISO P (steel) materials, with applicability across M, K, N, S, and H workpiece materials as shown on the package label. The IC8250 grade delivers cutting speeds of 120–220 m/min (400–730 SFM) and feed rates of 0.05–0.15 mm/rev (0.0020–0.0059 ipr) for ISO P steel, confirmed from the package label. These inserts are compatible with Iscar GIP-pocketed toolholders accepting the GIPI insert pocket style, and are sold in a sealed factory pack of 10 pieces manufactured in Israel.
