The Iscar MNC 490-245 A40-259-12-5D (catalog/item no. 3202884) is a new replaceable-tip drill body from Iscar's SUMOCHAM line, designed for indexable carbide tip drilling without regrinding. The drill body accommodates Ø49 mm cutting diameter tips (compatible with Iscar's IC908/IC908 or equivalent SUMOCHAM interchangeable heads) and provides a maximum drilling depth of 245 mm (5×D), with the "5D" suffix in the part number confirming the 5× diameter depth-of-cut capability. The shank is a 40 mm Weldon flat (A40) cylindrical shank as encoded in the part number, and the tool body features through-coolant capability with internal coolant channels for chip evacuation and thermal control during deep-hole drilling. The tool accepts SUMOCHAM replaceable drill heads covering a diameter range of 25.9–49 mm, making it suitable for a broad range of hole diameters in steel, cast iron, stainless, and non-ferrous materials on machining centers with 40-taper or equivalent spindles accepting a 40 mm shank.
