The Kennametal B977A15875 is a new, solid carbide through-coolant drill from Kennametal's B977 series, manufactured in Germany and ground in grade KC7315 — a PVD-coated submicron carbide grade engineered for high-productivity drilling in steel, cast iron, and stainless steel. The MPN decodes as follows: "B977" identifies the Beyond™ drill product line (cylindrical shank, through-coolant, stub/jobber length), "A" denotes a cylindrical (straight) shank, and "15875" encodes the diameter of 15.875 mm (5/8 in). KC7315 is Kennametal's PVD TiAlN-based coating on a fine-grain carbide substrate, providing high hardness and thermal resistance for dry or minimum-quantity lubrication (MQL) machining.
