The Kennametal B978A11200 is a new, solid carbide twist drill in the B978A series, featuring an 11.20 mm cutting diameter and KC7315 substrate/coating grade — a CVD TiN/TiCN/Al₂O₃ multilayer-coated fine-grain carbide grade designed for high productivity in steel, cast iron, and stainless steel applications. The B978A series is Kennametal's coolant-through, through-coolant-capable jobber-length solid carbide drill engineered for use in CNC machining centers with internal coolant supply, offering excellent chip evacuation and hole quality in through-hole and blind-hole operations. The drill features a black oxide/dark nitride-appearance finish visible on the flutes consistent with the KC7315 coating treatment, a cylindrical (straight) shank for standard collet or hydraulic chuck mounting, and is manufactured in Germany to tight diameter tolerances. This drill is sold new in the original Kennametal plastic case with factory label confirming MPN B978A11200, grade KC7315, diameter 11.20 mm, and item number 1984545.
