The Kennametal M4D250L1507S100L175 (catalog/order number 5568084) is a new, USA-made 2.5 in (63.5 mm) diameter, 7-insert indexable face mill from Kennametal's Mill 4-12 (M4) series, designed for high-productivity face milling of steel, cast iron, and stainless steel. The body features a 1.00 in (25.4 mm) arbor bore with a drive key slot (S100 mount), an overall body height of 1.75 in (44.5 mm), and accepts 7 tangentially clamped LNGU/LNMU 1507 (15 mm IC, 07 mm thick) style inserts secured with Torx clamping screws torqued to 3.5 N·m (31 in-lbs) per the MS-2071 torque specification stamped on the body. The shell-mill style arbor-mount body is manufactured from alloy steel with a black-oxide/nitrided surface treatment; the maximum rated spindle speed is 14,100 RPM as engraved on the body, making it suited for VMC, HMC, and milling machine applications where rigidity and high metal-removal rates are required. Supplied as the cutter body only with the arbor retention bolt; inserts are ordered separately (compatible Kennametal LNGU/LNMU 15 07 series inserts).
