This is a new Kennametal T623MF080X100R6HX spiral flute machine tap in M8x1.0 thread form, tolerance class 6HX, manufactured in Germany to DIN/ISO standards. The tap features a spiral (helical) flute geometry designated 'FT' (Fast Tap / right-hand helix) designed to evacuate chips upward out of blind holes, making it suited for CNC machining centers and blind-hole threading operations in steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous materials. The 'SBOT' designation indicates a forming/cutting tap style with a bottoming chamfer for threading close to the bottom of blind holes, and the KSP21 grade substrate is a fine-grain HSS-E (cobalt high-speed steel) with a TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating — confirmed by the gold finish visible in the photos — which increases surface hardness and wear resistance.
