The Kyocera SGS 51820 is a new, solid carbide ICE-CARB series twist drill measuring 23/64 in (0.359375 in) in diameter with a 2-flute, 8XD deep-hole configuration, overall length of 142 mm, and flute length of 95 mm. The drill features a Through-Accuracy (TA) shank — a precision ground, oversized cylindrical shank designed for secure clamping in hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders — and carries the IC (Internal Coolant) designation indicating through-coolant capability for chip evacuation and heat management in deep-hole applications. The ALtima or comparable PVD AlTiN-type coating characteristic of the ICE-CARB line provides elevated hardness and heat resistance, making this drill well-suited for ferrous materials including alloy steels and stainless steels in CNC machining centers. Manufactured in the USA and dated 06/21, this drill is designed for 8× diameter depth-of-cut in a single pass when paired with adequate coolant-through toolholding.
