The Loos & Co. 000-WCI is a new hand swaging tool from the Cableware Division, designed to swage copper oval sleeves in three sizes — 1/32 in, 3/64 in, and 1/16 in — onto wire rope or cable, with an integrated cutter for trimming cable ends. The tool body is cast iron with a black oxide finish, mounted on red-painted steel handles approximately 7 inches long, and includes a detachable go/no-go gauge plate (marked 3/32, 1/32, 3/64, 1/16) for verifying proper crimp depth on copper oval sleeves. Three separate crimp cavities are machined into the jaw head, each labeled for its corresponding sleeve size, allowing the user to select the correct groove without retooling. The wrist lanyard cord is attached to the handle end — a standard safety feature for overhead or marine rigging use. Typical applications include rigging terminations on stainless or galvanized wire rope in marine, architectural, and safety cable systems where copper oval sleeves (not ball-and-cup or Nicopress-style fittings) are the specified termination method.
